Hi, I'm Steve, a Sommelier in the Los Angeles Metro. I have spent a lot of time visiting the wineries in Santa Barbara, Temecula and elsewhere. I'm originally from NY, where I grew up consuming wine with dinner. My interests in wine expanded during college as I begun to exploring all of the main varieties of red wine. I would buy 2 bottles of each in order to form a comparison. Some of my favorite red wines are nebbiolo, mourvedre, barbara, malbec, carmenere, syrah and pinot noir. Additionally, I have always had a strong preference for the white grape chardonnay.

After moving to California, I began to drink wine moreseo for leisure. I have expanded my preferences to include white wines such as sauvignon blanc and chenin blanc and even rose on occasion. I lived near the Santa Rita Hills wine AVA for 3 years during the Pandemic and was a member of 5 wine clubs there. After moving to Long Beach, today, I maintain 3 of those wine club memberships and have begun to explore the Temecula AVA. 

I've decided to catalog my experiences visiting the Temecula wineries through this website. The Temecula wine region is known to have mixed reviews from experienced wine drinkers throughout California. It is my hope that this website will encourage skeptics to give the region a try. That is why I have created Steve's Winery List. This website is a work in development and I'm hoping to improve it in time. I would like to explore other regions such as Valle De Guadalupe of Mexico and the Finger Lakes AVA of NY to create similar lists. I hope the information I've gathered becomes useful to you and other visitors.
