The Raul Ramirez Winery is located far from the main strip of wineries in the Temecula Valley, but is a worthwhile drive to checkout. Overall, I felt the wines here were in line with the rest of the valley.
I would try the bubbles here as I thoroughly enjoyed them (16' Brut).
The Brut is served as a welcoming drink to begin the tasting. It is very tasty with nice bubbles.
This wine possesses a nice caramelized cantaloupe nose with a hint of honey. The body is surprisingly watery and the wine overall lacks flavor. On subsequent tastes light apple and mineral notes can be discerned. A touch of sweetness is present too.
This wine has a faint aroma of strawberry and fig. It possesses an intense kiwi strawberry flavor with sweetness and notes of oak and cinnamon. The body is mild.
This wine possesses a cherry, blackberry and licorice head. The flavor was muted, but mineralness and faint blackberry notes were present. The finish is bitter.
This wine has a black pepper and tobacco nose. The taste is reminiscent of plum and cherry with a mineral aftertaste. The body is uneven.
The nose of this wine can be described as cherry and boysenberry. The flavor can be described as strawberry jam, black pepper and tobacco. There is notable acidity and high tanins. The body is uneven.
