The outside patio area is very nice at this winery.
Palumbo has many great wines and is overall one of the better vineyeards in Temecula. You will not be disappointed making a visit here.
Although I found the wine to be good here, there wasn't anything that I felt an urge to purchase. Perhaps, I'll make a purchase on my next visit here.
Wines to try are the 18' Estate Sangiovese, 18' Merlot and 18' Meritage.
This wine has a dark cherry and blackberry nose and a typical berry flavor you'd expect from a Sangiovese. The body is good, acidity is medium and tanins are low. This is the VCR 6 Sangiovese clone.
This wine has an alcohol and faint berry nose. The flavor is muted berry with oak notes and a mineral finish. The body is good, tanins are low and acidity is balanced. The wine is quite smooth due to spending 30 months in oak barrels.
Note: This would be the preferred Sangiovese of the two for most wine drinkers.
This wine has an alcohol and faint strawberry aroma. The good flavor is reminiscent of boysenberry. The body is OK and both acidity and tanins are medium. Overall, this wine is unbalanced despite the good flavor.
This wine has raspberry and strawberry aromatics. The flavor is raspberry with subtle tartness throughout. The body is good, tanins are low and acidity is balanced. This is an impressive body for a Merlot.
This wine is a blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Cabernet Franc. It has a berry aroma and pleasant boysenberry taste. There are oak notes present in the wine. The body is good, tanins are mild and acidity is balanced.
