I like how Mount Palomar has a body and sweetness scale for their wines.
I really enjoyed this cab and decided to purchase it at the end of my tasting.
The wine at Mount Palomar is above average, but not good enough to rate higher than a 2. There are some wines here that are great, so it's definitely worthwhile to make a visit.
Some of the wines I enjoyed here are the 23' Chardonnay and 18' Cabernet Sauvignon.
This wine has a typical Chardonnay nose with a hint of floral. The taste is pear with some sweetness and a mineral finish. The acidity is balanced and body is very good. Overall, it is a very enjoyable wine.
This wine has strong lemongrass aromatics. The taste is apricot with citrus notes. The body is nice and acidity is balanced.
The nose of this wine is dark cherry with a hint of spices and vanilla. This is a delicious wine with cherry, boysenberry and cranberry flavor. The acidity is balanced, tanins are low and body is good too.
This is a mostly Cab blend. The nose is alcohol and spices. The flavor is cherry and berry. The tanins are high and there is some acidity. The body is OK. Overall, it's an OK blend, but nowhere as good as the Cab.
This is a blend of Sangiovese and Carmenere. There is a deep boysenberry and oak nose with this wine. The taste is raspberry and cherry. This wine has high acidity, low tanins and a nice body.
This wine has floral, plum, licorice and vanilla aromatics. The taste is plum and berry. The tanins are high, acidity is high and the body is muddled.
